This blog post is a brief explanation of the situation that happened to our Twitter account. Our goal is to keep the highest level of transparency with Unfreeze community. This is also a warning for other companies to be careful with making any changes with your Twitter accounts
The unpleasant event that we describe below coincided with the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk. Just like the entire crypto industry, we expect a lot of positives changes from this event. On the other hand, we will also remember it as a time of complete chaos and the inability to deal with a theoretically simple issue that has happened Unfreeze account (@unfreeze_gg).
At the beginning of November, we were getting ready to visit to Lisbon for two events - WebSummit and Solana Breakpoint. We wanted to inform our community about our plans. At that time, the number of followers had already exceeded 1800. While changing the title of our profile that included information about the trip to Portugal, Twitter unexpectedly accused us of being under 13 years old. This was obviously a mistake. Initially, we were sure that the situation would be resolved quickly.
Unfortunately, we were very wrong. We were filling in forms for blocked accounts every day without any response. Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) did not reply to any messages. We even tried to engage the new CEO, Elon Musk, but unfortunately to no success neither. After 3 weeks, we received a request to send an ID, passport, birth certificate or other document, which would prove that we're innocent. That gave us hope for a happy end to the story. We sent a copy of the passport immediately. Unfortunately, we got reply that they are unable to verify and deleting the account. Sad. Especially at a time when so much is being said about the fight between Twitter and bots.
